These Barracuda® brake pad sets were specially formulated with an anti-squeal compound that meets the demands of the Gold Wing. It is a non-domestic product with a manufacturer part number of 05-568/3 and is compatible with all years GL1200. Barracuda®, a trusted brand in the motorcycle industry, is sold by Saber Cycle™.
Includes one Barracuda® brake pad set for each of the two front and one rear caliper (disc) of the 1984 to 1987 GL1200 brakes. All Gold Wing motorcycles have two calipers on the front wheel and one caliper on the rear wheel.
The chatter plate hails back to the days of asbestos brake pads that would harden up over time and cause the pads to squeal. The chatter plate was an anti-vibration device to reduce that squeal. When federal law banned the use of asbestos, the new pad compounds didn't harden up like they use to so the chatter plate became redundant. You will not be able to find any aftermarket brake pad maker that includes the chatter plate.
Our brake pads have the correct thickness for replacing the chatter plate style pads. Our special pad compound has slightly less metallics than others because some aftermarket pads were found to be damaging rotors.
