Q: Will the front brake Master Cylinder Assembly (part #82-285) work on an '82 GL1100?

Q: It says that this front master is for 1000/1100, 79-81. I guess it would fit on my 82 GL1100?

Q: Hi, I know there is a difference in the OEM master cylinders for '80 gl1100 with the dual front disc brakes, and the '82-83' that only have one disc operated by the front brake lever. This one is strong enough to use with the earlier bikes?

This assembly is EMGO's 34-37285 that replaces HONDA 45500-463-601 according to page 5 of their Parts Review catalog. And it fits all models years of the GL1100 because no years are listed.

That said, 34-37285 or 82-285 may not be an exact OEM replacement because they include other Honda models not on the OEM fitment list which is likely due to the fact they share a 15.8mm master cylinder.

A: Thanks for asking. Had you looked under the Fitment tab, it listed all years GL1100 but we failed to update the title and description. All good now. To confirm, it will fit your 82 GL1100.

A: The master cylinder assembly is brand new made by EMGO. It is not an exact replica of the OEM that had a nylon plastic reservoir. We are a warehouse - no showroom - located in the Kansas City metro area.
