Mirror-polished, SS304 stainless steel kickstand in one-piece solid casting with spring bolt that is not a cosmetic replacement but a solution for the wobbly stock kickstand of GL1000, GL1100 and GL1200 that have a kickstand mounting boss rotated too far up. Our kickstand is slightly longer than stock and improves the lean angle.
This kickstand was designed to solve a problem. Accessory makers of the Eighties discovered variances in the placement of the kickstand boss at the factory and designed this attractive kickstand to solve the problem. Now, decades later, issues with the kickstand boss may be due to damage to the frame over the years.
Every bike is unique and has it's own unique history so we cannot guarantee this kickstand will work for every application. Therefore, we make these DISCLAIMERS:
1. This kickstand is intended only for stock applications without floorboards. Several brands of floorboards have been made and sold over the years and we cannot be certain which brand may work with this kickstand.
2. Use ONLY if your bike leans excessively to the left and your kickstand boss is rotated up. If your kickstand boss is rotated down, you will not be happy because this kickstand will extend straight up and cause your bike to lean to the right.
3. If you anticipate adding floorboards in the future, our kickstand extender adapter clamp 93-136 and our kickstand extender 293-302 might help but we make no guarantee.
4. Due to the issues stated previously in this description, buyer MUST be prepared to make adjustments to achieve a fit and waives any right of claim to return this item for any reason whatsoever, known or unknown to all parties. This item is shown fitted to our own in-house 1976 stock GL1000, which does not not imply or express that this item can be installed correctly every 1976.
