Carburetor repair kit to rebuild one OEM 1978 or 1979 GL1000 Keihin carburetor model IDs 769A and 771A. GL1000 carburetor ID is on the top of the carburetor mounting flange.
VERIFY YOUR OLD CARBURETOR IDS PRIOR TO PLACING YOUR ORDER.
CARBURETORS HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO BE SWITCHED BETWEEN THE GL1000 MODELS AND GL1100.
Kit contains secondary needle, retaining screw, air jet cover gasket, primary air jet, secondary air jet, slow air jet, primary and secondary main fuel jet, slow fuel jet, float bowl gasket, primary and secondary nozzle, puck, float needle and clip, float needle seat, throttle spring and o-rings. By Barracuda.
NOTE: These kits have #140 primary and #130 slow air jet for the emission control models produced after Dec. 31, 1977. EC models had press-fitted, factory-adjusted pilot screws to eliminate adjusting the idle mixture. Manually adjusting the idle mixture is necessary if those pilot screws were removed. Owners of non-emission control 1978 have the option of reusing their #120 primary and #120 slow air jets.
RECOMMENDATION: We suggest replacing these external components for a proper vacuum seal: the manifold connector o-rings or joint sealing o-rings #82-610, air cut off valve #82-221 and carburetor rubber passage plugs #82-688. These parts can be purchased with four carb rebuild kits at a discount in our carburetor tune-up kit #10-Deluxe1C.
Consider replacing the carburetor to air chamber fuel tube o-rings 82-332 and air chamber gasket #82-330 to further ensure a good vacuum seal.
