I have read the other reviews on this product, i found it to be the correct length, however i noticed that there is less meat on the connectors than the one i had to replace, also please be aware the the spigot on the wheel needs to be in the correct position or the cable will snap as the tension caused breaks the little connector on the wheel end

No, because the 83 Aspencades's electronic dash uses an electronic sensor at the wheel instead of a gear and cable.
