One GL1100 Ignition coil for ONLY 1980 to 1981 that replaces OEM 30500-422-013. Two coils are required but only one may need replacing.
It has primary coil measured resistance of .4 ohms, +/- .04 and secondary coil measures at 22K +/- 5K giving it a fairly rapid rise time when fired.
IT IS NOT TO BE USED IN 1982 AND 1983 MODELS, where the coil design changed considerably and has a less volatile rise time that is partly tamed with the extensive use of ballast resistors. Use of the incorrect coil design can result in extensive engine damage, from holed pistons to ruined rod and crank bearings.
HISTORY: This very same part number was used extensively on models ranging from the SOHC CB650 to the DOHC 750, 900, 1000, 1100F and CBX from 1979 through 1983. Check existing coils for the correct TEC number when replacing in this model range, and verify it on the Honda microfiche services available extensively online.
