FAQ8 - Can all GL1500 riders enjoy the benefits of floorboards & highway boards?
Riders having a leg inseam of 31 inch or more may experience slight to great discomfort using the floorboards. Leg cramping, shifting difficulty, knees hitting the fairing, mainly because the seat height in relation to the boards is too low - for all types of floorboards. Try someone else's GL1500 with installed boards before you buy! Take an extended ride to be sure that is what you want.
Highway boards can cause a problem for long-legged riders who install the boards so they can straighten their legs making it hard for their knees to clear the flare of the fairing. Some of our customers set their highway boards at an angle allowing their legs to bend and clear the flare.
