DEFECT DISCLAIMER: Models 1988, 1990 to 1995 may have incurred production line errors involving the welding of the frame when Honda reverted from robotic welding in 1989 to hand welding on the assembly line. The following problem does not occur on the 1989 models as this model was perfectly built and the frame work assembly was done by a robot so that everything welded on all bikes of that production year are in the same place. The following problem never occurs on the left side. On the 1988, 1990 and 1991, you may discover after inserting the RIGHT SIDE FLOORBOARD MOUNT that the board will cant up to the right about 5 to 20 degrees from the horizontal plane. To remedy, use a small flat grinding file to open up the lower part of the footpeg mounting slot on the frame to allow the floorboard mount to drop to a lower angle. File to create a flat horizontal position as a tiny upward cant for the board is required to stop the riders feet from sliding sideways especially when riding in the rain. On the 1992 to 1995 models, the boards may tilt up from front to back which can be remedied by modifying the floorboard mount on the right side as instructed in a diagram that will be included with the boards for those model years.
