This item installs under the carrying handle on the 1100 travel trunk. I installed it exactly midways (front to rear) but then discovered that some of the old original discolored/peeling plastic guard still showed. It was not quite centered front to rear. So my advice is to check placement carefully before installation. No mounting hardware or double-sided tape came with the trim, so I had to come up with my own washers & nuts, as the trim has two threaded studs for which holes must be drilled. I had to remove the trunk handle for access, but it just bolts on, so no big deal. All in all, a good functional piece, but I wonder why the mounting tape and nuts/washers are not included. NOTE FROM ADMIN: Except for being polished stainless steel, this scratch guard was made EXACTLY like the original Drag Specialties (no nuts or tape). We only had few made to test the market and are looking to source out the nuts. |
